I just stepped foot off the train from NYC, where I had so much fun attending the Big City Moms Biggest Baby Shower event presented in partnership with FitPregnancy.
The Biggest Baby Shower event was created so expectant and newbie moms could have one central place to get information on baby products and hear tips from the experts on everything to do with motherhood. Preparing for the arrival of your baby can definitely get stressful if you're trying to figure it out alone -- there are so many options and decisions to make!
This event is a wonderful resource for moms to help them make those decisions. They can leave confident that they know about everything baby -- from strollers to baby clothes to breastfeeding. And the huge gift bags awarded to each mom at the end of the night don't hurt either. :-)
The event was star-studded this year. I spotted Jessica Alba, who co-founded The Honest Company, a line that offers safe, eco-friendly household products. Tia Mowry was also in attendance to talk about her new parenting book which she wrote after becoming a mom to her son, Cree.
But those weren't the only stars I got to see! Melissa Joan Hart was there with Abby Epstein to talk about the documentary series, "More Business of Being Born", and making informed birthing choices. There was also Dr. Bob Sears, Dr. Alan Greene, and the real stars -- over 1,000 soon-to-be and brand-new moms! We'll be sharing a lot of video in the upcoming weeks from the interviews we caught with the stars and every day moms, so stay tuned! But to whet your appetite, check out our Flickr gallery of photos from the event and our first video interview below.
Here's OnCloudMom blogger Caitlin's interview with Risa Goldberg and Leslie Venokur, the lovely ladies behind Big City Moms. They offered great advice for a mom navigating the event for the first time.
Keep your eyes to this space for more interviews from the event; panel discussions from Jessica Alba, Dr. Greene, and Melissa Joan Hart with Abby Epstein; my panel discussion where I talk about breastfeeding; and more!
